Going into the game versus Horsens Esport, we had a pretty good idea about what picks they could throw at us. The only player that was a bit of a question mark was their midlaner “Poulsen1”, who has a very versatile champion pool. But every other pick was expected and prepared for.
Heading into the first game we drafted a 1-3-1 split push composition with great wave clear, and a jungler that could play for side lanes. Our 1-3-1 pressure was never really needed though, we were up over 6K gold just 17 minutes in. As such the team played the game out with low risk, pushing out side lanes and grouping together for objectives.
We ended up not dropping a single turret, were up 18-5 in kills and 18K gold ahead, as we finished the game sub 26 minutes in.
Heading into game two, our players were feeling confident – maybe a little too confident. We drafted a Sivir, Olaf, Zilean composition where we could run down the immobile carries on Horsens Esport. However, we ended up forcing fights in some sub-optimal situations, which lead to us being slightly behind in the first 20 minutes of the game. The next 8 minutes we found small victories in team fights, but the big win for us came at 28 minutes. We started up the Nasher, Styllee secured it while under pressure, and then we took the fight and got ourselves a clean ace, 5 for none. It took a couple of pushes, but at 33 minutes we secured our third 2-0 victory.
Now we are looking forward to the 3 hardest opponents the next 3 weeks. So while we are at the top of the league right now, we’ll need to continue working hard to secure that is still the case when the regular season is over.
